Ms. Shontel Brown, a 42 year old Cuyahoga County Councilwoman, was selected to serve as Interim Cuyahoga County Democratic Party Chair on August 26, 2017, as 728 of 925 Precinct Leaders gathered to cast their ballots in Euclid, Ohio.  Our Congratulations go to  Ms. Brown on her victory as the first woman and African American to hold this post in Cuyahoga County, and we offer our support as she completes this Interim term until June 2018. We also commend the other candidates, Sandra Williams (current Vice-Chair) and Trevor K. Elkins, Newburgh Heights Mayor, on their efforts in this campaign for Interim Democratic Party Chair.

Four of our current six Fairview Park Precinct Leaders participated in the election, namely:  Bill McGinty (1A), Amy Hook (1C), Troy Greenfield (3A), and Gail Nanowsky (5A).  Troy and Gail (pictured at left of center) are currently President and Vice-President of the Fairview Park Democratic Club. The meeting started at 8:30 a.m. and the two rounds of voting lasted from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m.  We are grateful for the service provided by our Precinct Leaders and look forward to more exchange with them at our upcoming September 7, 2017 Club meeting at 7:00 pm in the Dunson Room at City Hall.
