Dems gathered on March 1st, despite the “winter storm warning,” to meet Tim Hagan and to hear him discuss “How to be an American in the Trump era.” Tim shared an intimate personal reflection about his family history, his military service, his political career, and the unprecedented challenges to democracy that we face daily relative to the current Administration and the GOP-led Congress.
Comments and questions covered:
a. DJT’s five Viet Nam War draft deferments!
b. Insults DJT hurled at Viet Nam hero, Senator John McCain and McCain’s broadside remarks about how “we drafted the lowest-income level of America, and the highest-income level found a doctor to excuse them for a bone spur”
c. concerns about the near-absence of “the young crowd” at our meetings, and the urgent necessity for us to re-engage and revitalize our youth in Democratic activity, debates, and campaigns
Tim Hagan invited people to join the “Fearless Loyal Opposition” meetings, and encouraged everyone to VOTE and get involved in GOTV efforts, as “our country is in danger of losing it’s soul!” Many thanks to Tim Hagan for his stirring presentation! http://www.thefearlessloyalopposition.org
