“September tries its best to have us forget summer.” (Bern Williams)
Our flower gardens and lawns are starting to show their age by now, and the vegetable gardens are being harvested. Children of all ages are having their “back to School” reunions with friends, and parents are pretty close to that refreshing late August exhale… right? We truly hope you enjoyed a wonderful summer season with family and friends!
The Fairview Park Democratic Club participated in the 2018 Summerfest Parade and our enthusiastic Club Volunteers staffed our Summerfest Booth, doing a fine job of welcoming visitors and Democratic Candidates, registering voters, raffling prizes, and encouraging people to become new Club members. Now is the time to “get back to work,” and resume our monthly Club meetings!
On September 6, 2018 we will welcome Fairview Park Schools Superintendent Dr. Bill Wagner and School Board President Joe Shucofsky to update us on the November 2018 “Emergency” School Levy Renewal featured on the November 6, 2018 ballot. Some of this information appeared in the recent “Fairview Park City Schools Annual Report to our Community.” Plan to attend this session, starting at 7 p.m. in the Dunson Room at Fairview Park City Hall, so you’ll be a well-informed voter in November. Bring your questions and concerns about the School Levy. During this meeting you’ll also hear from invited guest Candidates on the November ballot, including Ohio Treasurer Candidate Rob Richardson, and several others. We will introduce the Nominating Committee who are appointed to prepare a slate of candidates for our upcoming Club Officer elections in November. It’s time to “put our thinking caps on again” and resume our preparations to GOTV in November 2018! Feel free to invite your family, friends, and neighbors to this kick-off meeting for the Fall series!
