The Fairview Park Democratic Club was well represented at a recent local event promoting Susan Moran Palmer for Congress! Club members and guests will gather again on November 1, 2018 at 7 p.m. in the Dunson Room of Fairview Park City Hall.
This will be our last meeting before the historic and consequential election of November 6, 2018, so we urge all members and friends of the Club to attend and rally.
One of our guest speakers and former Cuyahoga County Commissioner, Tim Hagan, will discuss the urgency of GOTV efforts and the importance of election outcomes to Ohioans and to our country.
Bob Parker, a representative of the Single Payer Action Network Ohio (SPAN Ohio) will also provide an educational focus on the need for a fundamental change in our healthcare system, so that all residents of Ohio have affordable access to healthcare through a publicly funded, privately delivered comprehensive system that fulfills the basic human right to health care. http://www.spanohio.org
Christy Harst Rodriguez, who spoke at the October Club meeting about her #Kindness Wins project, (see previous website post) in collaboration with “Hola, Ohio!” will return to collect any donations our Club Members and Guests may wish to offer. Donations may include: a.)dry black beans and white rice, b.)Christmas gift cards for Teens from Target, Sears, JC Penney, Burlington, Walmart, etc., or c.)monetary donations or checks payable to “Hola Ohio,” with “Rainy Day Christy” in the note field. Donations will help replenish the Rainy Day Fund to assist immigrant families in Norwalk, Ohio with small amount requests for household expenses. We express our gratitude in advance for any generous gift you can provide on/before our meeting on November 1, 2018. http://holatoday.org
Our Election of Officers for the Club will take place at the November 1st meeting. “Vote Eligible” Members can check their eligibility when they sign in, and we look forward to a great turnout for voting for our new Club Leadership for 2018-2020! See you soon!
