Fairview Park Democratic Club President Troy Greenfield opened the 2018 year of monthly meetings by welcoming participants from Fairview Park, North Olmsted, Strongsville, Brecksville, Copley, Solon, Shaker Heights, Euclid, and other parts of Cleveland. Fairview Park Mayor Eileen Patton and Fairview Park City Council members, Peggy Cleary and Paul Wojnar were the local elected officials present. Hot coffee, refreshments, and a warm and comfortable Dunson Room at Fairview Park City Hall welcomed members, guests, elected officials and 2018 candidates.
Ohio Gubernatorial Candidate Betty Sutton reflected on her career progression from Barberton City Council to Summit County Council, then to the Ohio House of Representatives, and from 2006-2012 in the U.S. House of Representatives, followed by her 2013 appointment from President Obama to Administration of the St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation. Betty Sutton is well prepared to provide leadership as an Ohio Governor who will offer hope and opportunity to Ohioans!
Ohio Attorney General Candidate and native Clevelander, Steve Dettelbach, is a magna cum laude Harvard Law School graduate, who started his career as a law clerk for Judge Stanley Sporkin in the US District Court in D.C. Over a 25-year career, Steve Dettelbach has fought terrorism, the scourge of opioids, sex traffickers and child pornographers and polluters, and stood up for civil rights and prosecuted hate crimes. He believes the “rule of law” applies to all, and has prosecuted corrupt judges, police, and elected officials. Steve Dettelbach is ready to be your Ohio Attorney General!
