Fairview Park Democratic Club Members and Guests filled the Dunson Room at City Hall on June 7, 2018, engaging in lively conversation with Susan Palmer, Democratic Candidate for 16th Congressional District, and Cassimir Svigelj, Candidate for Ohio State Rep for the 16th District. Both Candidates provided additional personal background information and responded readily to audience questions about their campaign platform issues leading up to the November 2018 ballot.

May 2018 Primary Candidate William Vodrey attended our meeting to thank the Voters who supported him and to Congratulate and throw his support behind Deborah M. Turner who won the race for a Judicial Seat in the Court of Common Please General Division.
Newly elected Fairview Park Precinct Leaders attended our June meeting. (L to R) Monique Smith (1-B), Kimberly Mann (3-A), Bridget King (5-A), and Joe Shucofsky (3-B). Each Leader introduced themselves and registered their enthusiasm about taking on Precinct duties in preparation for the upcoming elections on November 6, 2018.
The 2016 Fairview Park Democratic Club ByLaws were revised and a newly proposed 2018 Bylaws version was presented one week in advance to eligible voting members for review. On June 7, 2018 after the Q & A session, the votes were counted resulting in 17 Yes and 3 No votes, with 7 remaining eligible voters absent from the meeting. The 2018 ByLaws are effective as of June 7, 2018.
At our June meeting, we announced that the term of office of the current Fairview Park Democratic Club Officers will end in December 2018. Any member in good standing, and a resident of Fairview Park, can self-nominate throughout June, July, and August 2018 by writing to the current Club President about their interest and qualifications for a specific office. At the September meeting, the Executive Board will appoint a Nominating Committee of 3 Club members in good standing. The Nominating Committee will report a proposed slate of Club Officers in October for a vote at the November 2018 meeting. Club members in good standing must be present to vote in November. Candidates receiving a majority vote by the members present are elected as the new Club Officers.
