The Fairview Park Democratic Club participated in the Summerfest 2018 Parade on June 29, 2018.
Club President Troy Greenfield, designed the float and drove the vehicle during the Parade. She was joined by Club Members, some Fairview High School “Walk Out” students, Candidates for Public Office, and a gathering of Democratic Friends from other local communities. Our new FPDC booth frame was financed by a generous “Anonymous” Friend of the Club. We made good use of the booth during the intensely hot & humid Summerfest 2018 weekend! Over 25 Members and Friends helped to staff the Booth, serving two hour shifts, and interacting with many visitors from Fairview Park and Cuyahoga County.
Our Booth Volunteers helped to secure signatures to complete a formal Petition to support Legislative Reform for non-violent crimes in Ohio, recruited visitors to send a postcard to Senators Sherrod Brown or Rob Portman to delay the vote on a SCOTUS selection, assisted in completion of Voter Registration Forms, sold Raffle tickets, sold Club T-Shirts, enrolled new Club Members, and much more!
Raffle Prize winners are: Goodtime III tix – Don Daughterty(2)and Robert Weise (2), Blossom Music Center tix – Sean Ginley (2) and Nancy Mikita (2), and the Ohio Home Art – James T. Wallenhorst. Congratulations to all winners and a big Thank You to all who entered the raffles by purchasing tickets!
Our next meeting of the Fairview Park Democratic Club will be on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 7 p.m. in the Dunson Room at Fairview Park City Hall. Per our By-Laws, no Club meetings are held in July/August. Club members “in good standing,” who would like to self-nominate for our upcoming Election of Club Officers, are welcome to do so in writing to our Club President by August 31, 2018.
