Ashley is a Judge for Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court, General Division.
I am running for Judge because I want to address one of the biggest issues facing our community: Domestic Violence. Domestic violence is one of the most frequent calls for police service in our county. Violence in the home is extremely difficult to address in our courts because of the complex emotional, intimate and economic dependency issues that surround it.
It is my goal to advocate for a domestic violence docket, which seeks to improve victim safety, enhance defendant accountability, provide judges with more resources to break the generational cycle of abuse, and help create stable homes for future Cuyahoga generations. As a trained and certified domestic violence volunteer and a prosecutor taking on these cases every day in court, I am uniquely qualified to accomplish this goal as your next judge.
While many believe the problem is limited to the family, the impact on our community, children, and resources is significant. The role of the judge is changing in our generation, and I believe blending legal justice with social justice is the future. An investment in our families is an investment in our future.
